Police nab drug peddler in Pulwama, contraband substance recovered | KNO

Srinagar, Jan 12 (KNO): Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a drug peddler in Pulwama and recovered contraband substance from his possession. As per the police statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police party of Police Post Newa intercepted a suspicious person during naka at Newa. During search, 1.120 Kgs of Poppy Straw was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Khaliq Wani, resident of Ghat Tokna. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 04/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been taken up—(KNO)
